Many people suffer from dry hair. According to physicians, dry hair is caused because the scalp or sebaceous gland is unable to prepare enough oil to feed the hair. This lack of oil cause dry hair. Dryness makes the hair brittle. The composition of hair is similar to finger nails. The hair is protected by an inner shaft and this is again protected by an outer layer. When the outer layer is damaged, the inner shaft becomes weak and this causes dryness of the hair. Apart from this, other known cause includes exposure to sunlight, effects of chlorine, frequent use of flat iron or curling.

Remedies:

The remedy for dry hair includes use of shampoo or oil. But, most of the shampoo is made of chemicals and therefore they are not suitable for use in the long run. Therefore, people have now started using natural products to cure dry hair.

In so far as natural remedy is concerned, hair style experts advice that those having dry hair should use baby shampoo, because baby shampoo has less drying effect. After using the shampoo, thoroughly wash the hair. Any residue of shampoo could also damage the protective cell of the hair. The other suggestion given by them is that those having dry hair should use as mild hot water as possible. This is because excessive heat can further damage the protective cell. Such persons would do well if they reduce their head bath to twice a week, instead of once a week.

The other remedy for dry natural hair is use of shampoo or soap made of natural products or organic materials. Such shampoo and soaps are available in plenty throughout the world. Apart from use of organic based shampoo or soaps, many home remedies are also in practice. These home remedies are time tested for their curative qualities.

Take one Avocado and mix it with olive oil and jojoba oil and apply this on the scalp. The other remedy is to take egg yolk and beat it till it becomes foamy. Now, apply this on the scalp. After about one hour wash the hair thoroughly with warm water.
